I’ve been hearing it a lot lately – “I’m so stressed, everything is so busy and so crazy that I don’t have time to take care of myself. I just go, go, go, all the time”
What is the difference between being busy and being productive?
What is the difference between sitting and truly resting?
Are you overworked and overwhelmed?
So, in a world that is busy and fast paced, with jobs and families and responsibilities – how do you make the time to take care of yourself?
It’s important to prioritize and recognize the difference between being productive and being busy. It’s time to make your minutes matter more. How can you do this?
When you’re working –put away the distractions. What must be done today and how much time do you have to do it? Then you put away your phone – messages and calls can wait till later….and you focus until your goal is complete. Do what you have to do today- no more and no less. This is a tip I learned from a wonderful lifestyle coach and friend, Francoise Everett.
When you’ve been productive and accomplished what you need to during the day – you can actually rest.
Rest is about creating ease and calm for both the body and the mind. How often, after a long and busy day do you come home and sit on the couch and instead of truly resting, your brain is running a million miles a minute planning or making to do lists or worrying? Sound familiar?
Part of being rested includes giving your mind time to rest and be still.
Stress and anxiety take a physical toll on your body, and can effect your quality of life on a daily basis.

When you are adjusted you activate your parasympathetic nervous system. This is the part of your nervous system that allows you to rest, digest your food better, and repair your cells. It also allows you to sleep and acts as a moderator of your stress response (helps you calm down when you are stressed).
Your nervous system is responsible for nearly every function in your body. It is your body's way of communicating with itself and allows your brain to tell your body what to do and allows your body to let the brain know what's happening in other area's.
The main goal of Chiropractic is to help you restore and increase the function of your nervous system, especially your parasympathetic nervous system. Your spinal column houses your spinal cord. Your spinal cord is nervous tissue and connects directly to your brain. Nerves that connect to the spinal cord exit at every level of your spine. This makes the integrity of your posture, alignment and spine very important to the optimal function of your nervous system.
You might ask; what results can I expect from Chiropractic Care? The answer is, I don’t know. Each person gets slightly different results from Chiropractic Care, and it will depend on you and your body.
