Sensory Processing Sensitivity and How it Affects You

What does it mean to be sensitive?  While sensitivity can manifest in various ways being sensitive may mean that you or your child has sensory processing sensitivity.  This means that your nervous system is more active than the nervous system of your not as sensitive peer. 
 
Your nervous system is responsible for every function and sensation within your body as well as responsible for how you perceive the world.  This includes all of your senses like sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell.
